The Fever Spine-Tek has its roots in Al Merrick’s trusted and proven high-performance shortboard designs.
The goal in the design of this board from CI shaper Mike Andrews originally for Patrick Gudauskas, was to create a more accessible tour level performance board that anyone who jumped onto it would feel its speed & maneuvability straight from takeoff.
Borrowing Pat Gudauskas's favorite elements of the Proton, Rookie, and MBM, then combining them with a refined subtle single concave and lower overall rocker resulted in a board with a huge sweet spot. With a slightly more parallel outline and forgiving its rocker, the Fever Spine-Tek has proven to be an all-around design that excels in a wide range of conditions and wave types.
Engineered by the crew at Shapers Australia, The exclusive SPINE-TEK partnership allows Channel Islands to build boards that are livelier and more responsive. Like a spring, they load up on energy, provide pop, accelerate out of turns whilst holding speed down the line, and the “spine” keeps its flex pattern unlike timber which loses it over time.
