SPUN HONEY

$1,399.00

The Spun Honey is a refined high-performance groveller developed by Dan Mann for Kevin Schulz and inspired by the popular Spitfire platform. Designed specifically for fast, shifting beach breaks and everyday surf, the board blends proven DNA from the Spitfire with modern updates aimed at progressive surfing in weaker conditions and is also a great choice for the Sydney & Melbourne Wavepools.

At its core, the Spun Honey features a diamond tail for snappy pivots, added lift, and smooth release. The board carries a responsive feel through peaks and quick transitions while maintaining control at speed. A slightly pulled-in wide point and refined foil help the board sit naturally in the wave face while still generating plenty of speed through flatter sections.

The bottom contour uses a deep double concave flowing into a subtle single concave, creating lift and forward projection without sacrificing rail-to-rail responsiveness. Compared to the Sweet Potato outline, the Spun Honey has more rocker through the rail line and a narrower tail block, allowing tighter turns and a more performance-oriented feel.

The Spun Honey is built for weak beach breaks, punchy everyday surf, and fast-changing conditions. It performs best in small to medium surf where speed generation and quick direction changes are essential, again proving itself to also be a great choice in the wavepools as well.

The board uses Firewire’s Helium core construction, engineered for lightweight responsiveness and durability. Helium technology combines fast-reacting flex with precise rail control to create an energetic feel underfoot.

The glassing schedule features a 4oz E-glass deck with high-density composite skin and additional reinforcement. Boards over 40 litres include an extra layer of 4oz E-glass for added strength and durability.

The Spun Honey comes standard as a 5-fin Single Tab (Futures compatible) setup, allowing riders to switch between thruster and quad configurations depending on conditions and riding style.

Recommended fin setups are the Firewire Spun Honey Fin Set as the primary option, with the Firewire Velox Fin Set as an alternative configuration.
