RAD RIPPER BLACKSHEEP

$1,399.00

BlackSheepBuilt boards begin with light weight, 1.5lb virgin EPS and utilize the most advanced “Triax-NCF” (Non-Crimp Fabric) high-quality carbon fiber, to create a fast, response and lively surfboard. A board that is both lightweight and flexible, but also surprisingly strong. The unique performance of BlackSheepBuilt boards comes from the Triax Carbon, which combines a triple-axis +30/-30°/0 layup. It is an “un-crimped”, multi-directional carbon, which enhances and controls torsional force from rail to rail. Multi-axial carbon fiber is a great alternative to traditional woven carbon fibers because it is made up of alternately aligned layers of unidirectional carbon reinforcement.

The RAD RIPPER BLACK SHEEP is the latest in ...lost's “Post Modern Retro” collection. A direct spin off from the Retro Ripper, but scaled for small, sub-par, every day surfing.

Starting with the Retro Ripper, Matt Biolos lowered the entry rocker a bit (for fast paddle, early entry, easy glide and quickness out the gate), and replaced the speed controlling round tail with a wide, planing squash tail for lots of lift and surface area for small surf. As a child of ‘80’s surfing, Mayhem has always been enamored by the ease of use from that era’s performance short boards. The RAD RIPPER retains a noticeably healthy amount of tail rocker, cut through by an aggressive double concave, adding even more lift and squirt under the rear foot.

Super-fast, forgiving, user friendly retro fun, featuring modern updates and improvements, suitable for almost anyone.

Highlighted features include:

  • Flat, stable deck, with steep, low apex, tucked soft rails.
  • Slight vee in the nose (to free up the low rocker) into a shallow single concave, into a deep double concave vee, for both speed and control.
  • Wide, stable squash tail, glides across anything, and holds speed through turns, even in small summer slop.
  • Forward thickness flow, with wedged “beak” nose, for drive and paddle-ability.

WARNING: Carbon Fiber surfboards can easily get hot! They’re dark…and like all things dark, they soak up the sun and heat. Take care of your board and do not leave it in the sun.
