With the Modern Highline the design team wanted to design a board that would give novice-to-intermediate surfers as much assistance as possible. The final design helps to transition surfers move from foamie style boards to hard boards.
To become a better surfer and build your confidence, you need to catch as many waves as possible. There aren't any shortcuts but Modern think they can help shorten the learning curve. So they designed this board to be very buoyant (easy to paddle), stable (easy to get to your feet), and easy to control (smooth turns & go where you want on a wave).
Essentially, Modern built this board to re-define the first steps in surfing so people develop their skills quicker, build confidence and maximise the enjoyment they get from riding waves.
