PSYCHEDELIC GERM & THE ANDO...

Fresh outta the factory come some of the Psychedelic Germ's and The Ando model. Hayden has been working very closely alongside both, the super casual Craig Anderson and the super creative Warren Smith. These boards are great for the waves we ride on a regular basis, a bit chubby, a little bumpy and always pretty busy. To help combat this, Hayden Shapes gives you the Psychedelic Germ and The Ando. Don't forget, if you order a custom board at Surf Culture, Hayden Shapes will have it ready for you in 2 WEEKS!!! Crazy!!!! To take advantage of this, payment must be made in full at the time of order.
THE PSYCHEDELIC GERM The Psychedelic Germ was designed when Warren Smith said to me he wanted a signature board model that was different and unique. So I took the Shred Sled model and added a displacement hull concept that I had been working with Tom Carroll and Andy Dovell on in a tow board project. I also put in some side cuts (concave outlines) inspired by the “Winterstick Swallowtail”, Mick Mackie and Matt Biolos, which are situated from the wide point of the board down to the flyer. The displacement hull softens the water flow through the entry of the board when planing through choppy water, or through the lip of a wave. The side cuts shorten the radius of your turn, meaning the board will draw a tighter arc for how wide the board actually is - resulting in the board feeling more responsive when on rail. The board has also been designed to surf small fun waves up to 4ft. It has a flat rocker through the belly of the board with a little kick in the nose and tail. The Psychedelic Germ is a board you can ride in all conditions up to 4ft that is going to be fast, responsive and easy to ride.
Craig Anderson makes his surfing look almost too casual and easy. His clip in Innersection almost took the big prize, so that's saying something. The board he rode in his section is The Ando model. A nice little shortboard with a great outline, volume where you need it. This is something that I'd like to have myself!
THE ANDO The Ando is Craig Anderson’s signature all round shortboard. Craig likes to ride this board 1-2 inches shorter and 1/4 inch wider than his Ando All Star model. This allows the board to feel super sweet under the feet and fit in the curve of everyday waves. The rocker is flatter through the center to give plenty of speed and flow. The tail of this board is a squash tail that is almost round, which feels smooth yet loose when needed
