It’s always pretty exciting when you get to see what’s new and what’s about to hit the shelves. Channel Islands has a few new models ALMOST ready for release. You can expect to see this boards, here at Surf Culture in the coming weeks. In the meantime, feast your eyes on this little teaser of what’s to come… If you see something you like, get in contact with us here at the store and we will give you more information on any of the models shown. Everyone’s favorite surfer, Dane Reynold’s, is still tweaking his new ‘Neck Beard’ model, but you can bet a dollar or two that as soon as it’s ready, it will blow minds.



Kelly isn’t done yet. Now you can have what Kelly rode in 2010 on his 10th World Title campaign



Yadin Nicol spends a lot of time in California these days. It’s enabled him easy access to the Channel Islands factory, where he has had a big input into this model.



Shaun Tompson will go down in history as someone who helped shape modern competition surfing. Check out Bustin’ Down The Door for evidence.



Dusty Payne is an exciting surfer to watch. His surfing in the ground-breaking flick, Modern Collective is a testament to this.

If you’ve seen the latest episode of Creative Destruction, then you’ve probably seen Wade Goodall flaring on a few Al Merrick’s. He was riding a MBM+ and a Whip. Wade surf’s smooth. We’ve got a few of his boards here in the store at the moment, they probably won’t be here for very long. Check out the clip below…

THE MBM +

MODEL DESCRIPTION
The MBM+ is an updated version the MBM. Working closely with team riders, Al modified the bottom contours to create the MBM +. All our team riders that were riding the MBM are now riding the MBM+ and achieving great results. Nathaniel Curran recently rode the MBM+ to victory at the US Open and the Lacanau Pro in route to qualifying for the 2009 WCT. It consists of a single concave bottom with flip in the tail. The MBM+ is an integral part of CI team riders’ equipment.

FEEDBACK : needs to be surfed vertically in the pocket.

DESIGNED FOR : intermediate to expert surfers in waist high to well overhead waves. Can also be custom ordered as a quad or a Step-up board.



THE WHIP ::

MODEL DESCRIPTION
In landlocked neighborhoods a man’s “whip” is his customized ride, his prized mode of transportation. During the Europe leg in 2009, Kelly’s “Whip” for less than perfect surf was his 5’9” x 18 5/8” x 2’5/16” – one inch shorter than what he won Snapper and Bells on in 2008. This is Kelly and Al’s re-worked version of the Flyer, with a few secret changes. This board is faster and more forgiving. If you’re looking for a board that excels when your shortboard seems to bog, this is the board for you.
Also available as a Quad

FEEDBACK: Should be ridden 3-4 inches smaller than your shortboard, 1/4″ wider and the same thickness.

DESIGNED FOR: Everyday use by intermediate to expert surfers in knee to head high surf.
